mine took away my xanax for no good reason and its been a rough time. they keep trying various antidepressants that have an anti anxiety affect, but they make me sick and besides some bps and antidepressants can be a dangerous combo. (in a, who wants to see my tits, kinda way)

ask for something see what happens.. some say buspar, but for me it doesnt work at all :(

I'm a klonopin girl myself, but since January I've been weened off of it in favor of buspar. I wasn't too happy about the change, but so far so good. I haven't used Klon since the end of Feb.

Good luck with the asking. He'll probably go with ativan, xanax, or klon though rather than valium, which is awfully sedating.

Yes, I never met a benzo I didn't like. I've always been very careful and never experienced any addiction.

Speaking of Valium, I recently had 20mg of Valium orally, prior to a medical procedure....Sedating isn't the word. I was literally drunk and feeling no pain or a care in the world. However, i was incapable of walking, but rather had to be wheeled to the car.

Next time, 10mg.

i'm doing BuSpar and Klonapin.

I currently take ativan for anxiety I don't take it unless I really need it for panic attacks and when my anxiety level gets high, I just sort of deal with it otherwise. I did ask my pdoc about xanex but got a lecture from her abut addiction. I take buspar too for anxiety.

I take Valium for anxiety and also to help with sleep. Like the others that have commented, it never hurts to ask for something that will help with your panic attacks. Good Luck.

I'm the luckiest DS member, my pdoc has me on two benzos! Clonazepam 1-2mg for sleep and up to 3mg a day of Lorazepam on an as needed basis for anxiety, panic, paranoia, delusions, hallucinations, etc. But I've never taken more then 1.5mg in a day.

If you're having some trouble, definitely talk to your doc about some options for anxiety meds. I take Valium for anxiety. I take it every night and can take it up to 3x per day if needed. I usually just take it at night and when I have panic attacks or anxiety attacks. It's definitely helping. I do not experience the 'drunk' or 'high' affect that some people experience with this medication. It just leveled me out ...but that took a good three weeks for that to happen.
