Hi!!
I made a post about a month ago talking about my struggle with going to high school and wondering if I should do online. I had a breaking point where I got so overwhelmed with school I dissociated for two hours in the school parking lot and no one knew what was happening. Me and my mom decided in doing online for junior year. I'm going to try to keep a schedule once I start so that I don't fall behind, and my girlfriend is helping me keep up with how much I'm isolated and how much social time I get. I'm feeling much better already.
I have a question for my medicated friends: I'm on 300mg of lithium and 100mg. Anyone else take these? How do they work for you? What medications work for you? I'm female, 16, and with bipolar 2 (unofficially. my therapist gave me a diagnosis but my psychiatrist hasn't known me long enough yet).

Once again I've had a fever today. I'm not going to the hospital because that's a huge waste of time but I did schedule a dr appointment for Wednesday afternoon.

Everyone on this site is on different meds. Most of us are much older than you. Meds depend on what type of BiPolar you have, what your prevalent symptoms are, how often you cycle and how long you've been BiPolar and how stable you are. I've been BiPolar for 30 years and am on a more "stable" med cocktail at this point.
We can't tell you what meds will work best for you or not. That's your Pdoc's (Psychiatrist) job.
Your pretty young for a BiPolar DX, technically that DX is hard to make until your around 19, because your Cortex and Prefrontal Lobe of your Brain have not fully developed and BiPolar Disorder is a Chemical Imbalance of these parts of the Brain. So its tricky and can be tricky to stabilize as your brain is changing as you grow. Keep in frequent touch with your Pdoc, and be honest with him/her about your symptoms, how your meds affect you, any side effects, etc. The more information you give them, the more they can help you control your symptoms.
Good luck with online school and good job on the scheduling and keeping track of activities and isolation...that's all good stuff.
You're an inspiration!!
We are on all different cocktails of meds and most of us are on more then one...
The pdoc works with each individual to see what works for him/her and sometimes it's quite a process.... I hope that Lithium works well for you..... Big hug....xo
