Bipolar Disorder Support Group
Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.

If you notice, I rarely post anymore, so that should say something.
Back in August of last year, I took rhisperdol without cogentin. In November, I began to have panic attacks...severe ones. In January, I was hospitalized and I was given lamictal, lthium, ativan, saphris and norvask for blood pressure.
I had panic issues, heart issues, and also mild cognitive impairment which flared up badly in February and cogntiion was only partially regained in July or so of this year. I was tested and they say that I have ADHD and that ny IQ is average.
The doc switched from saphris to latuda. I got suicidal but held my ground. A fbrulation occured and some gastointenstinal problems. In August of this year, I had a cathertirzation and was found to be okay artery wise.
All heart problems have subsided. I have had semi-stable behavior for the past 5 months.
I hate my doctor and will not go back to him at all. Hr didn't care that I might have early Alzheimer's and he doesn't care about what happens at all................
So, the question remains......Do I go back and get on meds or keep truckin? I feel very very lost.

Once again I've had a fever today. I'm not going to the hospital because that's a huge waste of time but I did schedule a dr appointment for Wednesday afternoon.

The new doctor has been treating me for about 4-5 months. I am more well physically and mentally right now than I have ever been. I sometimes wonder what would have happened to me had I not found someone new.
If you do not trust your current doctor, what do you have to lose by finding another one?
Oh!! I didn't let a break in my meds happen. I saw the dumbass one last time just to get my scripts and give me time to search for a new one.
It's scary, I know. I felt lost and overwhelmed and alone. But, it has all worked out for the best. Start asking friends and neighbors if they can recommend someone to you. Start looking for a doctor you can trust.
I'm not sure if you're not on any meds now??... I would definitely want to have a doc rapp... Not too many of us can stay off of meds ongoing and crashing takes a long time to pick up the pieces
If you don't want your old doctor then I'd ask for a referral to someone new... xo
Jan, I'm not on any meds right now, but miraculously, I've been fairly stable for the last 5 months. MAny of the stressors of the old neighborhood and house are gone. As much as I hate saying this, our moving was the best thing we ever did.
Stressors and homrones are what stoke the bipolar.
Thanks again everyone and Happy Halloween.
