Bipolar Disorder Support Group
Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.

Hello everyone, anyone I just joined this group because today I was diagnosed with Bipolar 2 and I'm not sure how to handle it. Am I really as crazy as my dearly departed mother always told me? There so many feelings and anxieties kicking in. To be given this diagnosis is like a double edged sword. I feel like: Okay there's a reason for my behavior, yet I feel crazy. Not sure how handle this situation. Thanks for reading my rant. Blessed be!

Once again I've had a fever today. I'm not going to the hospital because that's a huge waste of time but I did schedule a dr appointment for Wednesday afternoon.

You say, "Crazy" like it is a bad thing. I don't like being out-of-control or hurting people, but JPC (Just Plain Crazy) is imminently manageable with a little help from a well maintained therapy network. Peer support is a priceless piece of my own therapy network.
Welcome aboard. Gentle support while you process this new evolution.
I suspect many of us go through mixed feelings when we get our diagnosis - relief on one hand and then some regret in realising it's never going to ever completely go away and you've acquired a lable and joined a minority group.
It's a scary world to get a diagnosis that comes with the label of a mental illness. It takes a while to process and we all go about it in our own way. I've heard many people say it's both a relief and terrifying at the same time, that's a pretty common way to look at it. A good pdoc and the right meds and coping skills will get you through most days and a good peer support network and some understanding loved ones will get you through the rest of it. I embrace the label "crazy" it makes me feel more normal, everyone is crazy. And "crazy" is easier to hear than manic depressive and mentally ill, to me at least.
We have a controllable disorder with medical help and learning some coping skills and tools
This is a good and supportive place to come I'm glad that you've found us...… Big hug....xo
