sometimes I start laughing hard for no reason at all. Ill even laugh when its not appropriate. I have bipolar and also have tourettes. SO I am curious if it could be a manic symptom or a tic

sometimes i find something funny when no one else does and I laugh when no one else is.

but, i think this is my poor people skills and part of my schizoaffective disorder...i don't read social cues as well as some.

If someting happens that Im not supposed to laugh at and i try to hold it in it makes it worse.

My daughter laughs really hard for no apparent reason, she can go on for awhile, she has autism

sometimes i do that when my heart is broken and it has been a while since i really laughed. then i'll go for it. i guess that sounds kind of ...

btw....my best friends son has tourettes ( and epilepsy, cerebral palsy and autism) he laughs like that but its more like a bark.

When it starts can you control it? I'm thinking if you cant, it might be the tourettes

I experience this phenomenon when I am hypomanic. It's gotten me thrown out of classes, makes everyone look at me funny, alienates people...basically, it's embarrassing, but in the moment it feels so amazing.

Laughing , or even crying at inappropriate times and or things...is a common BP trait.

It does not mean you are having an episode, it's more like a mis-fire of the chemicals in our brains

If it happens too often, I'd bring it up with your Pdoc

I can't say if it's related to my BP but man do I laugh, a lot! For me it can be out of nowhere and it's just because I crack myself up. ( the stuff running through my mind- OY) I am pretty much at high speed and manic so maybe it is related to my mania. I don't laugh at inappropriate times though,.

Yes, I laugh at inappropriate times and places. Like funeral homes, hospitals, church, etc. Serious heartbreak and high stress seem to make me laugh 'hysterically'.

Nobody holds it against me. They know my emotions misfire at times and really they are used to it.

Are you going through an unusual amount of stress??

It has been a longtime since I have laughed with any sort of feeling and power. I cherish these times because they are really rare.

I tend to be at the other end of the emotional spectrum.

I repress my emotions and therefore, when I laugh I also cry.
