totally OT! FBI surveillance?

yeah so I was sitting at mcdonalds today. I was using their free wifi. I saw this weird SSID called fbi surveillance. there was a van around and the signal later disappeared. I wondered if this could be real and if so why is the FBI so stupid as to openly broad cast their presence?

I did a little digging and it seems this might not be a joke. If it's true though the FBI is really really dumb.

My husband saw it too and now wants to name his wifi "D.E.A."

I would think the FBI would just not broad cast their SSID since you can turn it off. But hey I don't put it past the government to be stupid.
