i went and had my labs drawn for my thyroid. I am on thyroid meds and it has been awhile since I had my level checked. I have been so lethargic, etc...so I am sitting in the waiting area and my surgeon came into the area where I was. He always remembers me. I have had cancer twice, both extremely rare Within 17 months. He was my surgeon for both cancers. When I look back, I wonder why I bothered to fight. If I knew how awful things were going to get, I would've just thrown in the towel. I have bowel issues that are now permanent due to the surgery that I had with my second cancer. I am a train wreck from head to toe. A big giant mistake.
Trust me if there's anyone around here who know's how having one surgery often messes up another organ or screws up some other body system...I would be the Poster Child! I realize how hard it is for you to sit and listen to them explain why they problem is here now because of what happened when they were fixing the previous problem through surgery. It's not fair, and it can often cause problems that just seem so unfair. But sometimes we just have to suck it up and figure we're going to accept it and do the best we can regardless of it.
I know that having all the medical problems to go with the mental ones doesn't make things easy and I greatly respect you for making it out of bed each day and making it through. Do you have a therapist that you can go see? So that you can talk some of these harder subjects out with?
