Bipolar Disorder Support Group
Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.

I tend to think in lists - never ending lists - and no matter how positive the thought starts out in my head it always goes to a bad place. It always ends with a thought that is going to be something that will bring on an anxiety attack, or start my (what I call) my self hate thinking.
The reason I realized this was I started the list this morning with:
I should call my grand daughter to see if she had a good time and the Zoo (happy positive thought). Without going into the whole list it ended with the fact that I had to move last month and break a lease and the landlord will sue us. Major anxiety attack followed and had to take meds.
Does this happen to others? Do you know how to help manage it?
Thanks for any responses-it is nice to have this sight and not to feel alone in this.

Once again I've had a fever today. I'm not going to the hospital because that's a huge waste of time but I did schedule a dr appointment for Wednesday afternoon.

Random thoughts that sneak in and upset you.
There are meds for this...talk with your Pdoc about meds and possibly some therapy to help you cope and get past these thoughts
Good luck
A cognitive type of therapy can help a lot with this type of thinking... Big hug for you Id...xo
...It's Not as easy as it sounds! Every minute of Every day has me potentially thinking about the Next minute, you know?
I'm in the car, and I'm thinking about Where I'm Going.
I'm cooking, and I'm thinking about What I'm Going To Do While I'm Eating....later.
I'm out walking and I'm thinking about Whether There Will be Dogs on the next street.
I'm on the computer and I'm thinking about Who All Needs a Hug. And if I'm going to Miss anyone.
....Seriously?? I need to be Relaxed, enjoying the Experience of being in the car. Driving alone, Looking at things, or at Nothing...just, Being.
Or enjoying the fact that I Have food to cook, and that I Can cook....not about what's going to happen with the food in 30 minutes or more!!
Enjoying the Walk, not worrying about what "might" happen on the next street. (If I want to carry a stick, I Do so, but not so I can Continue to Worry)
Enjoying Being here, and having Friends, and HUggging, you know...not 'how-many-can-I-hug-today', .....you know.
We get Soooo stressed by worrying about All-Things-Down-The-Road, and Especially if some of those things are Scary things, like lease-and landlord problems!!
There is time enough on your list to Do Your Best with those things, but not to Stare At A List and spend extra time Worrying.
It's not easy to "live in the moment"; I struggle every day, but I Highly recommend it; it' Amazing how peaceful the results are.
