Bipolar Disorder Support Group
Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.
Hope we both start feeling better soon
Big HUGS!
As someone else said, above, getting a shower everyday is just such an important start. (I can easily spend days on end in the same pygamas and dressing gown etc). If you can try to eat reasonably (even if it is frozen meals in the microwave), and then if you can , whenever you can, wash the dishes, put out the rubbish etc. Maybe even do the laundry. It might only be ONE of those things a day, but it can keep your motor running - and each one will contribute to your self esteem.
And even getting out of bed and going to the couch and watching TV is something - even if you can't get out of your PJ's.
I have very few family and friends left because of my mental illnesses, but if you do have family and friends you can talk to, give them a call. Even if the call only lasts a few minutes and you talk about inane things like the weather, how your favourite sporting club is going, or what your pet is up to if you have one. And of course you can always call the Crisis Line, even if you're not seeking a solution from them - just a short chat can really break up the day. And also your psychiatrist or psychologist if you have them.
I know all this sounds inane and not very deep and meaningful, but that's the point. Just get some action done for the sake of it and it's these tiny increments that can help.
I'm trying to take my own advice right now!!??!!
