The doctor doesnt like my taste in music and this bothers me.Why is he so concerned when he sees me just once a month? I am 63 years old and i grew up in a house where music was loved.My late grandfather played the cello and violin and my late father sang tenor.Dad used to be in a barbershop quartet.He has a tremendous voice.I took singing lessons from 1962 to 1973 and appeared in various rectials.But because of my mental illness and financial problems I couldnt pursue my music.I dont like Chamber music.Ug....it bores and me I find that symphony music does the same.I like some composers.I like david foster and i like yo yo ma...but he called this unrealistic,But as for me,even a kid......I loved rock and roll.I am 63 and I am a Guns N Roses fan and I happen to love Axl Rose.I saw Guns N Roses in concert and they are going to tour again..Axl just reorganized the group.He is really in his top form.How many of you are Guns N Roses fans? And how many of you been told that your taste in music doesnt fit? Does anyone know what this means? He changed my m edication a,lso and although I feel 100 times better..I still love my rock and i cant collect cd anymore and I dont have many cassettes so right now I am listening to the oldies and wonder if this is unrealistic.Please give my your comments.What does this doctor mean?
I think a lot of people would think I listen to strange stuff. I like everything from Patsy Cline to Nat King Cole to Etta James to System Of A Down to Rush to Pearl Jam. Throw in a little Claude DeBussy and I'm good!
I gave up worrying about what other people think about what I listen to because obviously my taste in music is far superior :p
Seriously though, listen to what you like! Oh and you can go to www.grooveshark.com and listen to whatever you want for free.
I like a lot of music that is outside of my age range. I'm 47 and love Pearl Jam, Jimi Hendrix, Red Hot Chili Peppers, U2 & Muse as well as about 20 smaller indi bands. My own dear husband and I have totally different tastes in music.
Funny, but my pdoc and I share the same taste in music. He used to play bass in an indi band when in med school. I think that is a hoot. To thank him for helping me through a really difficult time & doing a lot to keep me on temp disability, I gave him a memory stick with a bunch of new alt rock songs to check out. He is so busy with practice and growing family, that he has not been able to keep up with new music. He is a fantastic pdoc.
