Can the person responsible for the majority of a disabled person's expenses (food, lodging, etc.) claim them as a dependant for tax purposes even if they are not a spouse, child, or parent?

not only do they have to be paying for the living expenses, but the bp person cannot earn more than $3000 in a given year...

Some state will pay a ccare provider to care for thier mate - family member.
Eva I thought that a person could claim a person if they corved 75% of a person expenses -?

I dunno ig rent can be used on tax filling
I daughtt that person has to nor would want to claim SSI.
I dought that state will tax nor rebate food assiseance. being that is state assistance.

Contact an accountant,or tax service, she/he knows and it doesn't cost to ask.
w my accountant the meter starts running the moment that she take my call,lol

Yes, they would have to be supporting them for at least 6mo of the year.
