hey does anyone think there is such thing as taking too much of an antidepressant? i am still newish to Bipolar but i really think i have been manic lately. it has gone down. maybe the best thing in my opinion would be going down on the antidepressant. Any opinions or experience? my mental health hasn't been great and i have been stressing over being in a relationship plus christmas stuff, he seems to be extremely nice, accepting, and nothing could turn him away. i havent known him for that long and he is great but im kinda emotionally not there. I think I'm just going to be friends with him for now so there is no stress. Today I talked to him and he didnt push anything he just aasked if i had had any fun christmas plans for tonight :) so i feel better about it. also what tends to trigger Mania/Depression episodes?

Once again I've had a fever today. I'm not going to the hospital because that's a huge waste of time but I did schedule a dr appointment for Wednesday afternoon.

Anti-Depressants can also cause activating or hypo-manic like symptoms if they are not properly paired and stabilized with a Mood Stabilizer, i.e. Anti-Psychotic, Anti-Seizure, etc.
Bi-Polars should never take Anti-Depressant alone without a Mood Stabilized as it will cause Manic/Hypo-Manic issues.
You don't say what other meds you're taking, so it's hard to know how your meds might be affecting you or each other.
Your stress also might be regular old "stress" from the Holidays, meeting and learning a new relationship....all that's stressful for many folks.
Take care,
Kat
