Yes a big part of me is really enjoying this but I am worried at the same time. It started 3 months ago when they first put me on prednisone..... but it was at lower doses so the mania was mild.... At the time we did nothign about it as we hoped that when I stopped takling the prednisone the mania would go away..... but they kept putting me back on the prednisone and the mild mania persisted. Then I guess they got tired of me being hospitalized for the asthma and put me on a 15 day course of massive doses of prednisone...... that is when the mania got out of control. It is now full blown.

We increased my anti psychotics from 20mgs to 80mgs and added Klonopin 2 to 4 mgs a day, whatever I need. My pdoc thought 4mgs would help me sleep but it hardly puts a dent in the mania at all. So now I have been off the prednisone for about 2 weeks and the mania is still here and I am not sure what to do..... increase the anti psychotics more? The maximum dose is 120mgs..... try a combo of 2 anti psychotics? My hope had been that as the prednisone left my body the mania would just subside but that isn't happening and now I am worried that it will stick around for a few more months then I will crash big time. I am scared of the crash..... the last time the mania was this intense was about 7 years ago and the crash was bad.

Any ideas? I know I need to give up the caffiene but I only drink enough to avoid getting a headache, I eat healthy, I am exercising and meditating all to no avail. I don't want to be stuck just riding it out and living with the consequesces but I don't know what more to do...........
