then that sounds like its from your own docs, otherwise you would have gotten mail from socsec telling you of the appt.

It's almost impossible, but try to relax, and don't worry about what they think, or get frustrated about how hard it is to get people to listen. Tell the truth, even the stuff you don't wanna admit to yourself about your symptoms. Let them see a little emotion about it, like the despair we sometimes feel, or the anger at it all, it helps them see that you are genuine. Mostly, they will just ask you a bunch of lame questions about your symptoms and stuff. They want to know how you function on the day to day basis, you have to let them know how hard it is for you to do the little things that keep the normies on track.

And if someone knows you really well and you can trust them, sometimes it can really help to bring someone along for support or if you can get them to let you go into the eval with you, they can help back up what you are saying.

They ask alot of freaking questions. Just think of them as your pdoc because that is what they are. Tell them the same things you would tell your pdoc and in the same way. Actually being nervous helps. I got mine on the first try but that doesn't happen very often.

I had to fill out a long form (5-6 pages) with all these questions about my situation,activities, emotions, etc. Then I went in and talked to the ssdi pdoc for maybe 5-10 minutes. He went over the form with me, and when I started shaking and talking about sparkly pixelated walls, he said, wait, this is the first time you've applied?

I don't know my results yet, though.

For my regular Pdoc it was usually just chatting, but once I was given a paper test.

It again is just a bunch of questions and you pick which option you feel fits you the best (multi choice - color in the dot). Be honest. Read the top of the sheet carefully since one asked me if I had the problems in the last 2 weeks not an overall in the far past.
