I had my test the first of december. EVERY TEST IS DIFFERENT AT EVERY TEST SITE.Dont work yourself up over it because it isnt hard . just take your time and be totaly honest.
They started out with a math and money test, then i was to look at pictures and draw them on blank paper, then it was off to a room to talk. then they asked me to remember as many of the pictures as i could and draw them again. then some more talking, them they gave me a puzzle that were blocks and i had to make the patterd from a card they laid down, then shapes test where i had to see what shapes(and partials) made up these pictures, then repetive numbers, they called them out and i repeated, then they called them out and i had to repeat them backwards. then talk more and another Psy came in to talk, they wanted history and family, medicien info, it was like i was applying for school.

They wanted to see my meds, just so I could write down what I was taking so I would not forget to write douwn any of them. The test were just simple math and spelling test. Then I had some simple reasoning test. I was denied. My attorney said about 80% are denied the first time and then 40% are denied the second time. He said I will be approved the third apeal. At the Wellness and Recovery Center, they say the same thing in the SSDI Advocacy Group, They told me not to worry about it, this is the game we have to play, then I will get about $1,000 a month and they will take medicare out of that. I will be able to work a part time job to help with income, so not to worried. There is a cap on the $ my attorney can charge, it is something like $6,000. and he only gets paid if I get my SSDI. I will get my money from the day I was determined to be disabled. Now, I filed my claim in March 2010, said I was disabled Dec. 2009 and SSDI had told me in my letter I am not disabled enough for them, but I am to disabled to return to my normal line of work. SO........... My clock is running from Dec. 2009, the attorney and the advocacy group both say could take 18 to 24 months by the time I get my first check. I am looking forward to that $20,000 payout to take a nice vacation on. Good Luck on your test. God Bless, Michael

I just went to an interview with my sister for SSD and one thing he really wanted to know was her manic and hypomanic symptoms and how they affected her. So concentrate on that.

My first SSDI evaluation was with a local Pdoc.

He asked me to recite a series of numbers and words to him...and then do it backwards.

He asked me if I ever fought with my co-workers or had trouble with the police.

It was about a 10 minute evaluation.

I was denied


The Examining Pdoc NEVER asked me if I was suicidal..had halusinations or delusions .....it was a sham of an examination.

Make sure you make you're symtomns and side effects of the meds you take very clear to the Pdoc who does the exam....and make sure he knows how these things limit your ability to cope !

This is the time when being completely honest usually sends the normal people running to the hills. This time it is a pdoc and they can handle it, write it down once or twice before and don't forget anger, memory, and hallucinations.

I'm a total guess as to what happens. Don't look at my message as words of experience, I still havn't gotten past the first application process.
