When I was in the hospital the last time, during our groups we were told how important it is to have a spiritual life. What do you think? Is it important that we develop a spiritual side of ourselves? And if so, what kind of spiritual life do you have? This topic is not meant to start a fight about who's wrong and who's right so please keep it nice.
Thanks.
Thanks.

I find myself going places in the car and not wanting to get out of the car. I come back home and I don't want to get out of the car. I think it's the only time I spend reflecting. Chronic tiredness from Long Covid plus the immunosupressing meds for my Crohn's is slowing me down but everything just seems a massive effort. I am dealing with the paperwork following my father's death but it's not...

Wow, it's the middle of the week already!Today is our 11 year anniversary, so we're going out to a nice dinner. I'm losing a lot of sleep these days, hence a wonky schedule and uncomfortable feelings. But I know it will pass, eventually.I hope all of you have a peaceful day, and may good things come your way!

The love of nature. Spirituality means different meanings to people. What does it mean to you.
I'm not sure you can "get spiritual". People often used to see me as very spiritual despite being an atheist. I think it comes from my personality type. But bipolar "helps" in reminding you the world is not as it seems, there are other types of experiences and so on.
I was advised by my psychologist that as my hospitalisation was from a spiritual delusion (not my choice of words) to stay away from religion as it would make me ill.
I ignored all spirit, didnt look for meaning in life (to me meaning is found in spirituality) and became ill anyway. Very, very deeply depressed. This lasted some months.
Eventually realised that it wasnt so much an episode from BP, but that a huge chunk of me was now missing and I was empty.
Now, returning to my beliefs (not of an organised religion but of that which I have had evidence of), I feel whole again.
Is it important?
To me, yes. It is vital!
For my reading books on the topic, like the ones by N.D. Walsch, Eckhart Tolle, Marianne Williamson and Gerald Jampolsky has been very important.
In my journey I've felt close to God in manic episodes, drug experiences and in discussing him with others.
My quest has been to become closer to my higher power and I realize that I have this life to do it.
