Bipolar Disorder Support Group
Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.
Just me trying to be funny!
I understand what you mean. Do you think your pdoc could switch some of your meds around to provide you with the most meds for the least amt of $.
I will say this though. Every time I start thinking I don't need meds, I get in trouble and it's NEVER good. I'm thankful I haven't completely ruined everything that is good in my life.
I was "in between" meds at one point and I told my pdoc that I wanted to wait a little bit b4 goin on my next one (much to his concern but he let me) and I had a bad, bad episode! Try not to go too long without ur meds. I know that energy feels soooo good though! But it's not worth the crash.
Been there and the crashes are not fun.
But, I had to learn for myself.

I also started Lamictal 2 weeks ago but the dose is so low that it's not at a therapeutic level yet.
So 9 months now and I have yet to know what it feels like to actually "BE" stable or more controlled from meds.
I wonder the same things sometimes...should I just say to hell with it all and start a drinking party or am I actually gonna see some benefit from meds soon. Because as it stands being not really medicated, i wonder if it's worth it at all or if I am fine the way I am...
wish you and me bnoth some luck =)
