I know a certain amount of social unease can come with Bipolar but how bad does it need to be before it becomes a disorder in itself?

I am very antisocial, I have only two friends I talk to occasionally and I talk to no one at work. I go no where except work, home and the store. I live alone and often go days without even speaking to anyone.

I hate living alone and crave a live-in lover. But I can't even date because I am so sick with bipolar. I would not make a healthy partner for anyone. I am 50 years old and expect to die miserably alone.

No amount or combination of drugs will bring me the care I need from a partner. The drugs don't even take away the need for a partner. The drugs do nothing but keep me stable. So I can suffer quietly now.

i do the alone thing to i just dont think that i coulkd handle a person unless they are perfect for me and then what a mood swing and how do they deal with that what about bad days i can only pertend for so long before they realieze i have to be there for me more then them but i have a support group and that works for me what i would do is just try to look for people to talk to at work start by talking about work and see where it goes there is small steps to talk to do this i wouldnt try a relationship right away but i would try to get to have some more people to talk to from time to time to get up a little and go from there

It can all seem hopeless, that is the way I feel about a lot of things. Just push yourself pass your comfort zone a little at a time and maybe this can lead to better things.

The older I get the more I stay home- I only leave when I have to work-take kids somewhere or school related events- Other than that I avoid most contact with the outside world-

Hi Heretic , I am very anti social myself, I have 1 new friend (RL ) my only friend and she doesn't know I"m BP. I can't seem to hold a job. I do have a spouse but no drugs (meds) lol no ins. I think it is great that you have 2 friends and have a job ! You just never know when you might meet that some one special.

I live with my sister, and yet still feel very alone most of the time .

I lost my job 2 years ago, and nothing much available to me .

I broke up with my long time BF 2 yrs ago also...it was a bad year.

I long in my heart that I will find someone who will love me .
At 59, almost 60, I wonder ?

I am lucky to have a group of friends who will not let me shut them out...they'll blow up my cell phone, beat on the door, drag me to the mall....
