Bipolar Disorder Support Group
Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.

And yes, it is seriously draining. Are you doing anything about it, Malfeitor? Hope it passes soon.
Have you seen your doctor?......xo
Sleeping with a CPAP mask can be a drag. You have to wear a mask and have a hose attached to that mask, so you cant turn around in bed too much and have to mind where the hose is. But I get great sleep. CPAP masks have gotten way more smaller and comfortable in recent years.
Just a thought.
You sure don't feel good overnight..... finding other coping skills can make a big difference
As you said yourself, things are better when your seeing a Counselor/Therapist, and it's important to find the right Therapist. For whatever reason, and I'm not a pigeon-holer, men have a harder time going to and staying in Therapy, in my experience, a majority of that has to do with finding the right Therapist. Its not easy to sit and spill your guts to someone in the first place....so it has to be the right someone. In my 28 years of BiPolar Disorder I've been through 17 Pdocs and I quit counting Therapist an long time ago.
My current Pdoc I've been with 11 yrs. now and he's the perfect combination of my personality traits that I need in a Pdoc. Unlike most, I get my Therapy from my Pdoc as well as Med Management. I can't really use Therapists effectively, because I used to work in that field and after a while it just turns into a sparring match (not on purpose, just slip into the mode) and I tend to make the bright shiny new ones cry. lol
I don't sleep much, usually from around 4:00a.m. to 8:00, somewhere in that range, then I get up and go to work. I have Cyclic Rhythm Sleep Disorder, my internal clock doesn't work, so my brain doesn't know when its supposed to go to sleep. I take meds to make sure I get that little bit. I don't wake up tired and feeling crapy, I just don't really care for morning. My Chronic Pain is Joint/Bone/Muscle related and pain is worse first hour of the morning when I've not moved for a while. So my first hour of the day is spent slowly getting my fingers and wrists to bend/move, then elbows, then knees, then anles/hips. 2nd hour is used getting up and getting legs to walk. 3rd hour, meds have kicked in and I take a 30 minute break and have a cup of tea. Then at 10:45 I get ready for work. I work as an Accountant 25 hrs. M - Th. at the office then from home Friday and Saturday.
The only exercise I can do is walking or pool work which I do in the evenings, my pool is heated so I can use it year round In summer I do a Spin in the Pool class...but I've not gotten brave enough to throw a Bike in my pool yet. lol
I use Slow Breathing Therapy, Relaxation Therapy, Biofeedback, My Pdoc's style is Dynamic and CBT. I've also done DBT and still use those skills. What helps me most of all is having a set schedule, and I stick to that, I don't break it. In my mind its like there is a serious consequence if I vary from the schedule...especially when I feel Depression coming on, because it only takes one misstep to throw myself out of whack and the Depression takes over, as you probably well know. So, I think you have to find things that work for you, and build a daily schedule, you don't have to be rigid, you fit what works....the important part is to stick to it....its not easy at first, but as you get used to it, it gets easier.
take care, sorry for the book.
