I know many of you might tell me to go post in an addiction or recovery post but this is doing immense harm to my mental state!
As if I do not battle with enough. My sister is staying with me because she is on Methadone and needs to be dosed daily and she can only do it here in NYC because she has a warrant in PA (where my mother and her daughter live) My mom has been raising her daughter (my niece) for 5 years while my sister has been a victim of human sex trafficking. Now that she was able to get out of that situation my mom dropped her on me! because she doesn't want my little sister and niece see her "strung out on the methadone".
I have a ONE BEDROOM with my boyfriend and shes sleeping alll day and alllll night on my couch. Making it such a depressing environment to come home to. What do I do? Am I enabling her? She has no where else to go because she gets NY medicaid and she cant get Pennsylvania Medicaid because she abandoned her daughter so my mom gets help from the state for my niece and the state claims they can sue my mom for fraud if my sister and her daughter are on medicaid in the same household. SO STUPID.
I feel myself becoming severely depressed and not wanting to go home and she doesn't want to go into a rehab she thinks she can do it all outpatient. That's great and all but she cant live with me forever! I dont know what to do... I just need advice or to vent. I dont know what the right thing is anymore.. I really dont,.

My stepson was like this so I can understand how hard this is for you. Sorry you are having to deal with this.
Talk to the people at her clinic. Someone must be in charge of her case. Then talk to that person and tell them you cannot have her living with you because of YOUR illness. Keep pushing them. They won't give in easily, but they will eventually.
Tell your mom you're NOT selfish, you have an illness that needs to be addressed.
