It is a total catch 22. Mania & depression make it hard to think clearly, and the medications we take to treat mania & depression make it hard to think clearly as well. Some may say anyone may have a mishap like pouring cereal in their coffee from time to time. However, I have mishaps like this all day. I think we just have to learn to laugh at them and accept the fact that we'll have to try a little harder than you average, unmedicated Joe.

Have you had any funny or frustrating mishaps that you are certain were drug or illness induced??? Please share! Thanks.

Well, I do goofy stuff like that (like putting the coffee pot in the fridge). But I find it's because I'm not paying attention to what I'm doing.
However I can't function 1st thing in the a.m. I believe that's from the meds. It takes me 2 hours to start functioning. I get up and turn on the news. Except I don't because I can't figure out the remote. It's annoying.

I threw the whole canister of the coffee machine and threw it in the garbage. I was finished with my coffee and instead of washing the coffee pot, I tossed it! Pretty weird stuff like that.

I have put the iron in the fridge and the milk on the laundry room shelf .

I am also prone to "Accidents"

I knock over things a lot. I'll be putting something in a cabinet and miss and spill stuff .....weirdly , many meds side effects listed say MAY CAUSE ACCIDENTS

My Pdoc confirms this info. Accident prone is common to BP people because of meds
