Bipolar Disorder Support Group
Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.
I am howeever accountable for my actions.
I can come off as condescending.
However I am a fixer. I love to solve problems. And this means that I have been known to help where it isnt wanted.
That ruffles peaples feathers. I am on the doers comittee and dont undeerstand people who arent.
Type a personality slipps through sometimes.
I, too, am of better than average intelligence & when I was younger I was "little miss fix it" until I learned that allowing other people to maintain their dignity & self-esteem is more important, in the grand scheme of life, than dazzling everyone with my intelligence. Intelligence can take one a long way in life, but kindness & understanding are true intelligence. It takes a truly intelligent being to know when to keep silent.
Growing up a girl, a lot of the time for me, it was either prove that you actually, surprisingly, do have a brain, or you miss out on opportunities. I made it OK, I got a PhD, and I'm working in research at a big-ass university. This is just about the only position I've heard of that would accommodate my bipolar instabilities, and still pay what it does. I would not trade this for any amount of friends. I need my job.
