Bipolar Disorder Support Group
Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.
I moved to Klamath Falls,OR from BW Washington in November. I am diagnosing Bipolar I, rapid cycling. Wasn't aware I was bipolar until I was 44, now almost 65. Took forever to find the right medication cocktail and it worked great for years. A couple years ago things got really stressful with my husband's drinking escalating and I had to adjust my meds under the care of a NP. We organized an intervention just in time and he has now been sober 2 years and things are much better. He suffered a lot from my active disease and stuck by me. These are supposed to be our golden years! I haven't been able to find a primary care doctor here and in Oregon they require a referral to obtain an appointment with a mental health practitioner that can manage meds.
I am a spiritual person and am reaching out to friends of like beliefs. My husband is of some support, but depression stresses him out because his father suffered from it and eventually took his own life.
My depression feels like I am being sucked into a vortex. It is all I can do to hand on to the edge by my fingertips. I do affirmations and pray all the time. I am hoping reaching out here will help.

Ever since I stopped doing therapy because of insurance, I've been feeling that old tense and irritable sense of anxiety and stress. I hate that. I was making so many strides and changes during therapy, my therapist would acknowledge all of my progress and accomplishments, and I miss that reassurance. Today I thought about it, and I made those changes! She would always tell me that I chose to...

Hey All...I hope that you have a lovely, peaceful beginning of your weekI have a bunch of chores that need doing but may put them off til tomorrow and just hang out with my landlord/roomie todayWhat about you?...Anything special going on?Have a great day and take good care of you!!..Xo
Thinking we? all at this time of year have a challenge with depression, I know I do. The challenge of your moving, do you think you could just be very tired and stressed out due to all of the changes? Lordy, I'm stressed out just being on my own and trying to clean out my house of 24 years of Stuff! and I've not even moved!!!
I look out my window and think about the days becoming longer, the temperature increasing....it's been doom and gloom and rain in CT now for almost 2 weeks! Perhaps you and hubby could find somewhere to go out and walk together....breathing in fresh air seems to help, and the best, it's Free!
Take Good Care!
Im sorry that you're struggling
This is a good place to come
Even if yoy don't have a permanent family doctor I would think that a GP can refer you
Do you have walk in clinics there?
Or if things are really bad could you go to emerg?
You don't necessarily have to be admitted if you don't think you need to be but they could refer you to a psychiatrist
Big hug of comfort and support...xo
the weather has bee awful here, too. Hugs
