Had a discussion with my Gastroenterologist today trying to find out what has has me sick for so long. The latest round of test have once again come up negative leaving me no closer to the answers to the illness than I was before. The good news on that front is most of the gastric problems I was having seem to be fading away with the combination of a pro-biotic, Gas X, and the clonazepan for anxiety.
The thing that has my feathers slightly ruffled however is that my Gastroenterologist is also the Dr, handling my Hep C treatment and I was just informed by her today that she does not feel that the addition of just the Clonazepan for Anxiety is enough to restart my treatment and will not restart unless I start a stabilizing medication prescribed by either my GP or if She doesn't feel comfortable, a Psychiatrist.
First off, I do not do well with ultimatums and Secondly Who the hell does she think she is telling me she won't treat me if I'm the one paying for the treatment!!!

Hey All...I hope that you have a lovely, peaceful beginning of your weekI have a bunch of chores that need doing but may put them off til tomorrow and just hang out with my landlord/roomie todayWhat about you?...Anything special going on?Have a great day and take good care of you!!..Xo

All that GOD complex going on.
Just a thought..maybe she just wants to see you more stabilized ,with your mood , before going on with treatment ?
How feather ruffling!! Your GastroGirl is probably insisting on a mood stabilizer to cover her own ass. Can you see a different Gastro?
Glad your problems are subsiding. Hang in there!
God Complex? You Insinuating, I have a God Complex? I eat people with God complexes for breakfast
I really hope that you get beyond these feelings towards possibly seeing a pdoc....it WILL NOT be forever, this is only during your treatment, they do not all have God complexes....mine doesn't, but you seem to put every pdoc in that category and it's only making things even more difficult.
I say do what they tell ya to do....so you can start up the treatment again and get this damn shit over with!!!! Please!!
You're having to start over again with the Hep C treatments once... I'm guessing she doesn't want it to happen a second time..
I hope whatever you decide your treatment starts soon ..xo
My pdoc said some meds can affect the brain for literally months. This includes cortisone, chemo drugs and I'll bet those strong anti-virals are on that list.
Instead of seeing this as a doc trying to meddle with what is working, think of her as anticipating stuff that will happen with the Hep C treatment. And talk to your pdoc if you have one. They can give you a better idea the mental side effects of these powerful drugs.
