Side effect Question

I attempted to look through the treatment forum for Lamictal threads for side effects but this head ache is to bad... Does any one else expereince a bad head ache on it? This is my first day one it and I had a head ache all day.

I don't have any lamictal experience but the best person to talk to at this point is your doc.

I have taken Lamictal for years now and never had headaches or really and other side effect from it. I think it's a great medication and I hope you give it a chance. It has worked wonders for me.

I am not going to stop after one day after major headaches because I am not sure it is from it.....I am just going to see what happens.

I just Googled Lamictal...it does list head ache as a side effect, and also says you should notify your Pdoc if they are severe

So there ya go..call your Pdoc.

My head aches went away after a week or so.

Huh. I get headaches every day, and I hadn't even thought about the Lamictal. Are they too bad? It's a really good, efficient medication. I hope you wouldn't have to stop it to make the headaches go away :(

right after I took it both times it was really bad, I could even focus on my homework. The headache lasted all day- It seems to have lifted some so, I don't want to jinx it. I really want this to work.

I don't remember if i had headaches or not when i first started taking lamictal, but i know i did have side effects, but they went away after a while...so maybe your head aches will go away in time..you could take some headache medicine until then...

I had about a week of headaches when I started it but then again I get migraines frequently

hi, yes lamotrigine is famous for giving you a headache. I very really get them and had it every day for a week or so when I was on lamotrigine.

I took it for 23 months and here's the ones that I can remember: big time insulin sensitivity - a little went a long ways, insomnia for 95% of the time on it which no sleep med could touch, very forgetful, joint pain, neck discomfort, irritability, and hypomania. I've read lots of praise for Lamictal, but I have none for it, but I really wish that it had been for me what it is for many. I did give it 23 months, though. Good luck F12.

Yeah meds that tinker with the brain chemicals can definelty cause headaches.....is should subside after a while though, hang in there like you are and give it some time....ox

I don't remember if Lamictal gave me a headache but other meds have. My normal reaction is to cut back on the med and wait until I am semi surviving the medication then I increase it more later.

    Wow, it's the middle of the week already!Today is our 11 year anniversary, so we're going out to a nice dinner.  I'm losing a lot of sleep these days, hence a wonky schedule and uncomfortable feelings.  But I know it will pass, eventually.I hope all of you have a peaceful day, and may good things come your way!
