I've been taking it for awhile and it's the only AP that's worked well for me, except for weight gain. I think it takes about two weeks of a new med to truly know if it will be worth sticking to, at least for me.

My boyfriend really wants me to try it for at least a week. He just told me when he woke up at 6am I was snoring away and it made him happy because I never sleep like that. I'll try and stick it out,

The drowsiness wears off in a couple of weeks. I was on seroquel for about 13 years, loved it. Had to stop taking it because I got TD finally but if I could go back on it I would.

Yeah, give it a couple weeks before you make a decision about it. You just can't tell in one dose.

I slept on it and gained weight, but I was one 150 mg at the time. I take abilify now and it works well for me.

I'm on my second week and I do sleep alot. I take 1/4 of a pill right now. I also went back on Prozac. I was taken off of brintellix.

I know for some people this is a wonder drug, for sleep, but be very careful as it can be addictive, I was on it for over 10 years, but switched to Trazadone, as its better for me, mixes better with the other meds I'm on.

I think maybe I need to not take the er kind. It's still in my system and I feel really angry and mad at the world. I'm seeing my PCP tomorrow so I will discuss it with him. I couldn't speak clearly today either which was weird.

You get used to it sweetie... It does hit you like that for the first little while... Just give yourself lots of time for sleep for the next little while... I've been on it for years and it's worked really well for me...x

on a different note.. I take 25mg to 50mg PRN(as needed). I have one regularly scheduled Antipsychotic and the Seroquel for agitation. I don't need it everyday. They tried it this way for me after disasters with the benzos. And my agitation gets so bad on the rare instance that if I don't take the Seroquel early enough, I punch things. And that is not in my character. The sleepytime effect does wear off though. Just be patient.

I have very like weird and seemingly real dreams on seroquel does anyone else have that??

Seroquel can effect dreams.....I have nightmares sometimes and I think it's Seroquel related

What are some side effects has anyone seen besides sleeping and weight gain?

I took it once, before bed. Woke up the next morning and fell out of the bed. I was a zombie for the rest of the day. Couldn't go to work.
Told pdoc and he said too bad, you have to take it for your mania, at least a week. Well, I was miserable but it did get rid of the mania and I didn't hve to take it anymore. I was on 25mg.
My husband is on 400mg. Go figure.
