I really just want to scream! My husband decided to, once again, give me his opinion of my psychiatrist. Drug pusher, wanna be Dr........and the list goes on.
He doesn't think I need meds and that all I/we need is to be tested by a psychologist (can not/will not prescribe drugs). Then whatever is determined from that, seek therapy. No drugs needed. Drugs are only for those people who are locked away and "drooling all over themselves".
If he'd ever listen to me, he might hear me when I say that I am feeling better on the new meds for my BP. I'm more focused, not as sad (course he never sees this).
He is the type of person that feeds off your emotion, so if I show any type of emotion he first will tell me that I shouldn't feel that way and I can control how I feel myself AND I saved the best for last.....when I tell him that he makes me feel like s**t or he makes me feel like crap or something similar.....his reply is "I don't make you feel anything. You make yourself feel that way."
I'm too tired to write more....he's getting me up at 5:45am....he's an early bird (I'm a night owl), so that means we ALL have to get up at that time.

Do you think having anxiety could lead into depression? What are your thoughts?

He is right about one thing though, only you are responsible for how you feel. Don't fight that part of it. Accept that as it is and maybe all else will fall into place for you.
Good luck and take care of you.
Why do you let your self get dragged down by him? I'd be seriously thinking about leaving him about now. A marriage can't work when only one person is doing all the work!
I too am in agreement no one can make you feel like anything.
If you have self respect, love yourself then it doesn't matter what he's saying.
People who have nothing but negatives to say it's a reflection of them NOT YOU! Remember that okay?!
Personally, sounds like he needs meds.
If the relationship is unhealthy, and marriage counseling isn't an option then you do have the option to go be happy.
Some people are just toxic.
Take care of you and if you have a good relationship with your Pdoc and meds are working well then don't give either up for anyone.
Your husband sounds like a classic passive-aggressive. Also known as a "crazy maker". I should know, I married someone like that too. You know, they say or do annoying things. When called on it, they are innocent - "I don't make you feel anything". "You are taking things the wrong way." Hence the crazy maker. You start to wonder if you really are crazy. Google or study up on the passive aggressive personality. I promise the more informed you are, the better you are able to handle it.
As for the getting me up at 5:45, maybe he should see some real bipolar action. I could make him beg me to go back to bed.
Marriage is hard work. Neither of you should be abused. But, he does have your permission to manipulate you. Knowledge is your weapon. Learn to be assertive.
I wish you the best of luck and hoping you can take control of your life.

He knows how to push your buttons and I'm guessing the dynamics are often same old..same old...
How much has he educated himself on bipolar???.. Has he ever gone to talk with your pdoc with you??
If it were me I would want to break this cycle.. I wouldn't discuss it with him anymore at all...
If he starts giving his opinion I'd smile and make an excuse to walk away.. ask him if he wants a coffee... Don't engage...
Or simply say thanks for caring I'm working my with medical professionals on my well being and change the subject or calmly let him know that you won't be having this discussion anymore and DON"T
Great big hug for you sweetie..xo
