I've used risperdone/risperdal and when it worked it worked and when it quit working it quit. It might be you need to increase the dose and it might be that you need to switch to another anti-psychotic med. I'd talk to your doc.

The only side effect I have on this med is....sort of waking up almost like I'm paralized. My brain seems to wake up fully before I can move my body or open my eyes, it's really quite strange

my pdoc prescribed risperdal to me to help me sleep. It is working as my sleep issues are so much better since I started this med. Maybe talk to your pdoc about the med, maybe your cycling?

It was one of those miracle drugs that I have taken. The problem with miracle drugs is they always give some awful side effect so I have to cancel them.

It gave me tardive deskinsia (SP) and I still have effects from it. If you start getting tardive deskinsia then you need to stop it immediately and if you stop earlier enough you wont have permanent damage.

Sounds like the dose may need to be increased. I found that when I take a new antipsychotic, it kicks in, works for about a month and then goes kaput. The pdoc would usually give me an increase to fix the problem. Might want to let the doc know what's going on. Good luck!
