Risperdal worked well for me, until it stopped working after a year.

Noise sensitivity is a horrible symptom. I get it bad when under stress and really, really bad when depressed. I wear noise canceling ear buds often and carry ear plugs with me for emergencies.

I also feel and see sound. Weird, i know.

Risperdal was a wonderful drug for me, after so many had failed. Unfortunately, my psychiatrist did not want me to stay on it because of the side effects (tardive dyskinesthia (sorry about the spelling) and male breast growth, to just name a few.
I could not sleep too well on risperdal, though, which it knocks most people out.

I was on it for a while. It worked OK, with pretty minimal side effects, except it did make me tired - but many psych drugs do.

I took it last night and i slept good and my mind was quiet but now i am still feeling tired. I am sensitive to meds that make you tired. So i am not sure what I will do. I may wait for my blood test results for the lithium. Thanks everyone for the feedback.

I took risperdol for 4 years and then somehow forgot to take it for four months and never affected me so I dont take it now! pdoc doesnt know.

The effectiveness of this drug depends upon physiology. Make sure to have the cogentin handy and probably eat that with a full meal with the full intent upon going to bed immediately. As a matter of fact, eat the meal and get the water and pill ready AND THEN take the pills with the water once in bed to insure that you don't get stoned and fall after taking it.

IF you are like my co-worker, you will be ambulatory on rhisperadol and if so, congratulations. If you are like me and are delicate on rhisp. then take caution when taking it.
