Bipolar Disorder Support Group
Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.
Do you have a good GP? Sometimes they can point you in the direction of a specialist that might be more in tune with your needs.
Sorry you are going through this. My dad had a stroke 7 years ago and it was awful. His neurologist was a jerk, too.
Stay strong and demand what you need. I've been brushed off by pdocs and I just keep looking until I find one. I'm not going to pay good money to someone who doesn't give a damn about my health.

BUT---behave in a business like way
have a written plan with questions for MDs, a clear idea of why you are there and what you realistically hope to gain. Make 2 copies--one for MD and one for yourself.
Take notes.
Have a family member or friend accompany you. Sometimes we need both a buffer and an advocate in dealing with the medical community.
Good luck. and Patience! I hope you feel better soon.
Be organized, polite, an attempt to be organized.
