Bipolar Disorder Support Group
Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.
There is memory loss, one person told me here they lost memory for a very long time. I get the feeling that it is a last resort. It helped my sister-in-law, but she kept going back because she was hoping she would die while medicated. So who knows what really happened there, she also has slight mental retardation. And my info is via the mother-in-law so who really knows what happened.
I would be more than willing to try it. If it has hope in helping me I want to try it. I was going to hook my tits up to a battery cable to save money but....I think I have become a chicken to that method.
I'm not afraid of fire, but am afraid of this
This guy is a dude, follow the series through his treatment.
Anyway, I read the good and the bad. Some people greatly benefited from the treatments and only had short term memory loss, while a few others had severe memory loss and other symptoms. I guess you can't really know what will happen until you try them, which is scary. I mean theres always that chance of things not going well, right? The question is, for you, is it worth the risk? For a lot of people, it is.
i talked to my friends about it once, and they were surprised to find out ECT was still done today.
