Bipolar Disorder Support Group
Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.
Risperdal made me really depressed in a flat scary wanting to die every second of the day way. I was blurry eyed hoping for death and finally my rational brain kicked in and said, "WHOA NELLY!" So I called my doctor and got off of it and 24 hours later was fine.
Had to laugh when I found out what my out of pocket would be for THAT change-up.
But if you can afford it, I have heard good things about it...
Obviously this thread says otherwise so far...
I find that most meds I have to try myself to see how my body/lifestyle will handle them.
But I always come here first (well, since I've been coming here) for advice...
Good luck!
Are you thinking about taking it again, trying it out at a different dosage or with another, new med?
Or are you just curious bc of your experience and the article?
I am just replying so I can bump this up for you & was wondering about what I asked.
Have a good Thursday. I'm gonna try to sleep, or at least rest. xx
