Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.

The severity of mania is the defining factor for BPI. My manias would always result in arrest and hospitalization. What's your experience? What's your treatment? Lithium works for me.

i take lithium and remeron ,visteral. i need to talk to doc about the adhd thing took an online test a week ago hubby think i could be too along with the bipolar. but i think my doc is full of shit i really dont like him, i have no choice but to keep him becuze all the other doctors on my insurance list are not taking patients...

whether you're labeled BP1 or BP2 is not as important as getting the proper treatment. If you tend to be more depressed, then that should be the focus of the meds. It doesn't sound like your mania is that big of an issue.
