Bipolar Disorder Support Group
Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.

I'm in a really bad place, way down inside the worm hole.
No motivation to exercise, but I know getting outside will not only help me physically and mentally, it will help me to get dressed.
Would anyone be interested in starting an exercise support group in the bp room? Just writing ya got out, how long you walked for or what distance you walked.
I've got no one to walk with, so if anyone were to post atleast I'd know I wouldn't be alone, plus with someone I'd feel more accountable to get out and 'do'....especially as the cold weather come in...
Thanks

Hey All...I hope that you have a lovely, peaceful beginning of your weekI have a bunch of chores that need doing but may put them off til tomorrow and just hang out with my landlord/roomie todayWhat about you?...Anything special going on?Have a great day and take good care of you!!..Xo
Just a thought do you have a Fitbit. Some aren’t that expensive and it does make you want to make your steps for the day. It might work for you it is worth a try. Anyways I will write down what exercise I did for the day. I’m sure other people will join in too.
They just keep bringing it up and we could do one here as well.....
Do you have a SAD or happy Lamp ML??….. Big hug sweetie..... I have a dog so that sort of forces my hand whether I want to or not.....xo
I hear you Kat...my legs and knees aren't the greatest...gym memberships are too expensive for me. I hope to just walk 15 minutes twice a day...not starting out big, maybe only 15 minutes....just to do it consistantly.
I remember a long time ago there was a person named "rizen" who would post each day the amount walked. It was done in just one post...could I do that here, just say :exercise: and keep posting in there? only one problem, the posts don't come to the top when someone takes the time to responding. Posts just get lost.
No I don't have one of those lamps....I'm hoping by starting to walk, taking vit. B12, vit. d I'll feel better. Thanks :)
So I'd love to be part of the Encouragement team!
I confess, I find exercising easy for two reasons:. I no longer have a vehicle and must walk more to bus stops and stores, do that helps; second, I now have a treadmill and stationary bike in the basement for at-home days.
Because I suffer from anxiety, I find it Much easier to have exercise equipment at home and I Highly recommend it for anyone who can get them (Walmart, even).
I found it off-putting to go to the gym because of the open rooms and all the People - would have loved it when hypomanic but now, not so much.
But walking in neighborhoods is "okay"; more so, when I have somewhere specific to go.
For those of you who are not motivated to walk - have you thought about the Reasons you are uncomfortable with it? That's how I found solutions.
Knowing When I like to walk (like, only when I am at home or when I have somewhere Specific to go) , and understanding how my anxiety affects my exercise, has been a big help.
Just a thought.
Thank you all for your interest and responses...smiling here for the first time in days!
I guess the next question would be do you all want to stay in the bp room or go over to ptsd room? Personally I'd like to stay here. I also have a group I started called WDYW (what do you want), we could post there and would be able to write about anything...I use it to try and keep me on track with what I need to do inside and outside at my home....I'll put up the link.
Same thing with me GTT....if I write I'm doing something, well just got to get the 'it' done! :)
