Bipolar Disorder Support Group
Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.

I'm wondering who has been diagnosed as having/had psychotic features or an episode of depressive psychosis or anything of the like.
What were your symptoms? What was it like?
Have any of you ever heard voices? What were they like? Internal or external?
I recently had an extreme episode unlike any I've ever had before and I believe I had some symptoms of psychosis. Just wondering, people who have been through psychosis, what their experiences have been like.

Once again I've had a fever today. I'm not going to the hospital because that's a huge waste of time but I did schedule a dr appointment for Wednesday afternoon.

I get visual, olfactory and tactile hallucinations in addition to the auditory hallucinations. The full metal jacket. Typically, the external hallucinations are like movements on the edge of my senses, there and gone so quickly that I can never be quite certain they actually happened. The internal ones don't seem to have an "off" switch. They go on and on like a nightmare I can't wake up from.
I’ve had auditory hallucinations too. Like for instance, I would hear my name over my shoulder causing me to spin around to see if someone was there although I was alone in my house.
I’ve not had either in many years.
My mom used to have really frightening episodes too before they adjusted her meds. Mostly extreme paranoia, not exactly seeing or hearing things. But she at one point thought the government was watching her through the television. She also would accuse people of taking things from her house. Those are just a couple of examples. It was intense.
I was extremely paranoid both times this has happened
They were like a connective fog of voices, smells, seeing things not there and thinking my every movement and thought was traceable somehow.
I still have trouble with my memory knowing what was real or not when I reflect on my big episodes and steps leading up to hospitalization. People I encountered and such. Also, these were all heightened when I was in actual hospitals....I now know I personally prefer IOP half day program should I require it again.
