I live in terror , that my Pdoc will retire, or move to a nicer town !
I really got bummed when I got a call from my therapist saying she was leaving also. At that point I started thinking this is just a bit too much to be comfortable with. I wished them both well, they are good people but now I have to deal with finding a new psychiatrist and therapist.
I had been traveling 1.5hr drive to my psychiatrist because they don't have any here in my county. Guess what they have? They have a TV that they bring the clients into the building to sit in a room alone with a TV psychiatrist.
I know of one poor fellow who hears voices through the TV, can you imagine how harmful that is for him to have to deal with a psychiatrist talking through a TV?
Sorry to hear you're on the hunt for a new pdoc. Did your current one give you any recommendations?
My primary doctor just announced that she's leaving. She did provide referrals but I haven't gotten around to contacting any. She has twin babies and wants to stay home with them. Don't blame her one bit.
Good luck in your search!
He wanted me to take meds !
Then three months later he decided against it.When I had been anxious for the duration of the wait between appointments.
Then three months later I am on more meds cos I had to tell them I was more edgy and sleepless.
All of their doing too.
So I hear ya.
All the best.

Hope your next is as good or better.
