Prozac BRAIN ZAPS

I've had brain zaps several times before over the years but usually only two zaps in one day..... I have been uncomfortable in the last couple of weeks and now My doctor has went on a 6 week vacation. Well I've had an emergency room zap experience. 60 zaps in 4 hours. OH MY GOD in heaven. I freaked and didn't take my meds the first hour I was so disturbed. Then waited and got better but for 3 more hours I was very distressed and intensely uncomfortable. Plus tremors. Now a couple days later Im still having vivid dreams. I see my GP tomarrow she says she will not see me for phych just sinus infection. BUT professional councel asso. wants to give me a letter and ask her to treat me for one month while he is gone. THE PCA IS DOING THIS TO ALL PATIENTS. They are so unprofessional. Im Serious. Two ER runs in two weeks. HELP help help. Im taking my meds and an extra pill last two days. Also drinking alcohol at night at home. Im stressed...I have had years of counseling on many levels including a STRONG FEAR OF THE UNKNOWN....and have a strong relationship with my LORD. I'll get thru this but its hard. I see the GP in about 6 hours......

OKay, wow I know this lady that had those zaps and she said it truly freaks her out. I would be at the ER in a heartbeat........I hope they find out what it is.

Can you ask to see a neurologist? This sounds very serious. My daughter has that kind of thing.

SSRI's did the same thing to me, and it got WAY worse when I had a concussion. It could be too much SSRI built up in your system or it could be withdrawal from not enough. Be persistent until a medical proffessional gives you real answers and a solution. Also, drinking will make it worse, so please hold off on that until you resolve the serotonin brain zap stuff. (((hugs)))

Does your pdoc have anyone on call while he's away?.. My GP doesn't like to work with me on psych problems either.. she's says she doesn't feel well enough equipped..

I too ask likeSuncloud if there is a pdoc on call. Even though you feel drinking makes you feel better, calmer? I wouldn't do it. I'd try my earnest not to imbibe. I realize its very tempting with the anxiety you are feeling now. I am not exactly clear what a zap is. Is it when your mind goes blank. I think alcohol would make that worse. Sorry don't know what the PCA letters stand for. Please pardon my ignorance. I wish I could be more helpful. Hope I can be supportive.

Brain zaps are so hard to explain to someone who's never had them...they are HORRID !

When my Pdoc upped my Buspar dosage, I started getting major brain zaps .. Seritonin toxicity .

Lowering my dose cleared them right up.

But hearing about brain zaps ...and experiencing them ....nothing can prepare you for experiencing them !

    Once again I've had a fever today. I'm not going to the hospital because that's a huge waste of time but I did schedule a dr appointment for Wednesday afternoon.
