Bipolar Disorder Support Group
Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.
Bipolar has given me an awesome mind. I am smart, creative, sympathetic, empathetic, understand and tolerant. It has shown me I have an inner strength to defeat myself in my darkest hour and support friends and family in theirs. It has made me a stronger person emotionally. It has taught me the meaning of being patient. This to will pass, wait for the good. It has given me the courage to be who I am and the strength to fight not only for myself but for others. In this illness I have found meaning in my existence. I have found my place in the world and the courage to fill my destiny. I am more than an illness today, I am a warrior ready to battle the stigma and hatred I have seen as a result of having a mental illness.

In the end, I am left with this: My sister, the normal one, has a beautiful home, a loving husband, a lovely, pampered daughter, a couple of nice, new cars, and two or three of just about anything else you could possibly want. She also has a very good and challenging, meaningful job.
I have none of those things. But I have a lot more fun, on a day to day basis. Her life is all drive and effort and accomplishments. Mine is all about savoring the beautiful moments, playing in the sunshine, enjoying what there is to enjoy, and suffering what there is to suffer. And I'm ok with that.
these things are no consolation prize from a benevolent major mental illness.
2. Am I stronger for it? I think not.
I wish I could say that I know I will come through this victorious. With my dignity intact.
I wish I could say that I will be happy again.
I wish I could say that I will do artwork again. The one thing that used to bring me the greatest happiness, I fear it is lost to me forever.
I wish I could read a book again, without having to reread endless chapters because my meds have totally messed up my cognitive thinking.
I wish I could look foreword to waking up in the morning without crying because I DID wake up.
I try so hard to act like this illness isnt controlling me but it is. I guess I am just weak.
I wish I saw myself at 45 years old. But it scares me so much that nothing will have changed. And I dont think I am strong enough to keep wishing.
So, I cant really come up with any positives for you now sorry.
I have a friend that adores him.Got me a ticket but I declined.
