I'm not really sure how this relates to bipolar disorder but I thought I'd put up this poem I just wrote to see if anyone likes it.
Cold WInd
This cold wind
Surrounds my brittle bones
Tired wings
Can't carry all the weight anymore
A memory of the sun
Is all I have left
This cold and tired orb
Doesn't warm me with its fire
Fire burnt so low
Like spirits dancing in the wind
The flame can lick your hand
And never burn your skin
Winters freeze
Is promised on the wind
Oh the wind
This cold wind

You no longer have to worry about me,
I promise.
There will still be days when I am an earthquake,
destructive and catastrophic
without any notice.
And many more when I will long for the body of another
to fold into me
like silhouettes at dusk.
Im not yet ready to set aflame the demons that follow me,
not yet prepared to see old lovers turned to ashes.
But I will stand on my feet,
despite the odds, and I will get there
eventually.
