Oh god yes. The problem is I do not have a very consistant cycle at the moment [on and off birth control its a mess for a while] so I dont know when to expect it, and since my manic / depression gets so intense I mostly get them confused>< till later I get my period and feel embarrassed.

Oh my God.....I lose my freaking mind! That is the time when I have some very irrational thoughts and should have a place to live in so nobody has to put up with me!!!

You know the Native Americans used to send the women who were on their period to a seperate hut, with all the other women who were on theirs. Not such a bad idea huh??

I usually feel my craziest when I PMS, irritable, agitated, crying all the time, just plain nuts!

I am the worst, I don't know if it's the PMS or the BP that has got me feeling looney...I blame it on both of them!!

Horrible, horrible, horrible for years until 2 years ago when my gyn put me on Yaz to help control hormone fluctuations that were causing the increase in mood swings. MIRACLE!! for me anyway. No more periods, or if any, extremely light, no pain, no moodiness, nada! If you need to be on a birth control pill anyway, this might be the one for you - double duty. If not, it might be a positive addition. It took a few months to kick in but man has it made a difference!!!

I used to get PMS to the point I could have killed someone quite happily. I got cramps, headaches, basically everything. Then I found the pill & it stopped everything. It's been my wonder drug.

My mood is rocky like a week and a half before to sometime after. So not fun

I'm extremely irritable right before. But I know the signs and am still pretty regular. So I know what's going on and how to control myself. sometimes I have to give myself a time-out. Brfore I knew what was going on, I was miserable.

I have PMDD on top of the Bipolar and OCD, so when it gets close to my time of the month...like a few days before, I get uber depressed, like I'm in the bottom of a depressive episode. I get PMS but on steroids...so the crying, the irriatbility. I even get suicidal sometimes. It doesn't happen every month, but just about. But that makes it all the more frustrating because I never know if it's going to come for sure and when it does, I don't know if it's going to end when I get my period or if it's really depression.

Docs said they would put my on birth control for it when my bipolar meds and moods were "stablized" but that was 3 -4 years ago. I've yet to be stable long enough for them to put me on the pill.

My gynelcologist that I have always trusted said he had the solution.

He said the Mirena IUD was the answer. It is implanted for five years. I was suppose to have it put in tomorrow.

I decided to Google it when I saw this post.
People that have been on it tell of horrible side effects. Now I don't want to have it put in tomorrow.

I'm like one of you above. I have PMDD. I am crazy & suicidal for two weeks before my cycle. This is often when I lose my friends. I have lost several friends during this time period.

I've been looking forward to tomorrow for a month. Now I am scared.

My husband has been doing research about my implant. He found a lot of negative information too.

He is convinced I should try Yaz. He said a lot of women on Yaz for PMDD had positive comments.

I know I will not do the implant tomorrow.
