Bipolar Disorder Support Group
Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.
I used to cling to friends. Now I've realized a lot of them weren't really friends. I just wanted friends so badly that they would be in my mind, so I would hurt when they would behave differently, when in all reality, they didn't see themselves as close to me as I did.
I trust people too much. I trust they'll understand me. Let me be me. But no... It's funny, though, because ever since I started putting up guards/shedding the liars and backstabbers/dismissing the phonies... I'm suddenly a mega bitch in the gossip circles. I'd rather be a bitch alone than surrounded by a bunch of people I've been duped into false relations with. Fuck that.

Unless your leaving a wwwhhoolllee lot out of the story....she didn't seem to be acting maliciously, just looking out for you. I'm not sure I could work up that much anger for someone doing that.
When going through med change the writer warned the friend about behavioral changes, as one should do to those affected.
Why didn't this friend ask the husband or uncle if something should be done? Threatening twice to put someone in a psych ward and sticking them with the ambulance bill was not her call.
I can tell you that sometimes, there are good people in this world who just have so many problems that for whatever reason, they will not or )I guess cannot?-never been sure on that) change their behavior.
We do not have to hate such people. We can have compassion but we need to understand that sometimes we have to leave a relationship to make sure that we can take care of ourselves.
I think that you have the right idea to let the lady alone. She may just have some real hang-ups with codependency. A lot of times, too, people want to *fix* us instead of focusing on their own problems. As the old saying goes, these people need to "clean their own porch up" before going to try and clean yours, as it were.
I'm sorry you went through this. I hope that better times come.
Wishing you and your former friend a good, peaceful life,
Miss Cate
