When you say psycic Dr do you mean psychiatrist? Yes, psychiatrists specialize in treating mental illness. Thats why we all see them. They know pharmacology like the back of their hands and are skilled at what they do. Try out a few psychiatrists and see who you like best and go with that one. Finding one that fits is half the battle.

yeah rachy thats who i mean...srry but yeah i think so too! it just hit me and i never wanted to accept that i needed one but im so sick of feelin this way I WANT MY NORMAL BACK so i have accepted thats what i need to do to get it! ty for posting

I came to the realization early in my treatment that the pdocs didn't always know what to do and sometimes they did harm. So research conditions and treatments and go in to your doc ready to tell them what you need. You won't be sorry.

My GP, thought I was just a tad depressed, so she gave me Paxil ( the med from Hell)...it flung me into a manic / psychotic episode.

See a psychiatrist ( we call them Pdoc's on this site)

I started seeing my new pdoc about 3 1/2 yrs ago. I told him then, I would research "everything" he told me and "every" med he wanted me to take. Told him if I didn't agree I would set up another appt soon and come in and discuss with him, tell him what I didn't agree with and he could tell me why he wanted it that way. Sometimes I am right and other times he is. But we each get the other's perspective. He told me that this was great and wished more of his patients would do this. I was upfront with him about this from the beginning because pdoc's in the past have gotten very pissed at me for doing this. OH well, their problem not mine.
Good luck and seeing a pdoc is the right thing to do. Just research all of it.

a gpdoc dont have the same dealings that a shrink does..they see how you act wile there..that and a dianoses..
