I'm only sleeping about two hours a night and tonight I didn't sleep at all. I'm begining to think either lithium is no longer working for me or it is the Ritalin. The Ritalin is a recent add to my cocktail to help me concentrate and fix my faulty memory and it is working for that but I think it may be keeping me awake. Anyone else take Ritalin or a similar ADHD drug? Any sleep problems?

Hi Michael.....yes, it could be the ritalin. The best time to take it is first thing in the morning. It may take your body some time to adjust. Four of us in my family are on ADD meds and Ritalin was one two of my sons could not take because of decreased appetite and insomnia. Adderall is another culprit that causes those issues.

I take Concerta which works very well for me and if I take it first thing in the morning, I have NO issues with sleep. If you dont balance out after 4-6 weeks, I would definately talk to your doc again......xo

I take Adderall and it is definitely affecting my sleep habits. I am not needing as much sleep. I just started taking it, but hope it won't send me manic because it helps me concentrate and seems to give me a "boost" to get my work done even more quickly
