Bipolar Disorder Support Group
Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.

I have found that I had close relationships before, several of them, and when I became ill and diagnosed with bipolar, people started to treat me a lot differently. They treated me with disrespect, and most of them just exited my life. This was horrible for me.
I think that the stigma of mental illness is SO unfair. Bipolar is just like any other medical illness -- why is it seen as something awful and something to be ashamed of?
I HATE IT.

Once again I've had a fever today. I'm not going to the hospital because that's a huge waste of time but I did schedule a dr appointment for Wednesday afternoon.

Hugs to you.
More education is needed about bipolar for the general public.
I think it's just plain ignorance. They're afraid of mental illness because they think we'll go off on them and do something violent OR
I've known people that don't believe it exists, that we're just crybabies and need to get our act together.
Either way, it hurts like hell.
