Bipolar Disorder Support Group
Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.
IE: When I stopped my meds years ago, and felt I was on an upswing, what I did with my life promoted a healthy happy me. Even tho I dropped out of College due to med complications and severe paranoia/depression, I still wanted to persue my dreams. I went to school for Policing. Ive always wanted to get the bad guy. So. when I actually started living, after stopping meds, I became a Security Guard. It was the best 2.5 years of my life. (before having my baby!!!)
So start living by doin whats in your heart. Dance in the rain, shout out loud that you love trees, run through a crowded mall!!! Get that dream job, buy a bikini even if you cant "SOCIALLY" wear it! (not that any of these are specific to you.... its more like whats inside me!)
Just do it.
Point of Fact.
This was not a NIKE advertisment.

YES! That is EXACTLY what I kept having to tell myself to drag myself out of my funk. I had to DO things. I also kept thinking I felt like a Nike commercial LOL!
Seriously though.. I had to just do things.. .instead of thinking about it.. dreading it... worrying about it... I had to just DO it! This applies to large goals like careers, but also little things like getting out of bed in the morning.. getting dressed even if you aren't going anywhere... cleaning house... ect...
I also agree with blue... I had to stop the negative self-talk. No more "I can't" and no more putting myself down. I'm struggling with that again atm actually. Even though I know it isn't logically true... part of my brain keeps saying I'm ugly, fat, stupid, and I deserve pain. I cannot allow myself to indulge in these thoughts because if I allow that tape to keep playing in my head I'm eventually going to believe it 100% I have to convince myself not to even consider the idea that those negative things are true.
