p-doc and therapist both quit

My p-doc, a wonderful man and a big part of the reason we decided to stay in the area, suddenly retired due to family health issues. My therapist had to move out of state to care for ailing parents...again quite suddenly. Both quit in a two week period. Now the place we go does not have anyone to see us until they can get licensed in our state. My kids and I are running out of meds. I need to talk to someone but don't want to start the whole therapy process over. So I am anxious and I don't know what to do. I am a loyal person, but how long should I wait to look elsewhere?

Can you ask your former team to recommend new people to see? But don't wait, look elsewhere now!

If nothing else, do you think your primary care doctor and/or your kids' pediatrician will continue prescribing the meds you all need, once you explain the situation and show proof of what meds you've been taking and for how long?

Maybe they could even give you suggestions as to what you can do right now to get help for you and your kids as soon as possible.

Sheesh. This is really too bad!!!

Be sure to ask the old team for a complete copy of records to have to take to new doc. when you find one.

If you can ask your former PDoc if he can recommend someone, I think that's best as he knows you so will be able to pick an alternative that suits you

I'm so sorry to see this sweetie.. It has to be a big strain on you...
I agree to ask your GP for refills until you have new mental health professionals..
The pharmacy has your drug records and you have bottles with the scripts on them.. It shouldn't be any problem...

    Once again I've had a fever today. I'm not going to the hospital because that's a huge waste of time but I did schedule a dr appointment for Wednesday afternoon.
