If you recieved a latter/phone call/email from someone you hadn't spoken to in 5 or 6 years, who stopped talking to you almost without warning, would you reply?
I'm thinking about trying to reach out/med bridges with friends I pulled away from just before my dx and first hospitalisation in '96, but I'm afraid of a bunch of rejections and don't want to put myself through that if it's hopeless. I tried getting in touch with one friend 2 years ago but she hung up on me saying she didn't have time to relive the past when she now has a husband and stepdaughter to care for on top of her work and vilunteering. It hurt and I didn't bother wth anyone else after that, but now I'm thinking that maybe I should try again?
A lot of us tend to isolate, has anyone been able to reconnect with people they pushed away during a period of isolation a long time later?
