According to this the type I brain looks different from the type II brain. No mention was made of the cyclothymic brain though :-( It's often overlooked in bipolar articles. Guess some people still don't classify it as such.

Just google 'cyclothymic disorder brain scan'
It would probably look similar to a mania or depression brain scan, but less pronounced, since cyclothymia to my understanding is a lesser, but still noticeable form of 'bipolar' simply meaning 'polarized' moods including both depression and hypomania.
I'm not sure, since cyclothymia is less commonly known than other mental illnesses, if it will be easy to hunt down brain scans of cyclothymic patients, but with different google search queries, you might be able to find something.
With bipolar brain scans, they look different depending whether the person is in a depressed, or manic phase. In my psychology text book there is a picture showing the three (normal, manic, depressed) side-by-side, but I can't find the exact same set on google images.
I hate the word GANGLIA. Yuk.
