I don't know that I agree with the whole capitalism bit seems we still have plenty of that but we are lacking the freedom part.
other wise I'm not sure of what I think of this cartoon. I just thought it was interesting and curious what others two cents on it are.
And yeah real prophetic how kids today are still hanging out at the malt shop. Or how relatives just happen to have piles of money laying around that they just hand over to us lazy nut jobs! LOL

I admit, it took me back to my childhood. The cartoons were so much better quality in those days. But not being American, perhaps it does not apply to me.
All this time I thought I was mentally ill. It never even occurred to me that I was simply becoming a Nazi!

I think the cartoon itself was misleading. They seem to have freedom and capitalism as synonyms yet the two have unrelated meanings. Freedom has nothing to do with capitalism or socialism. While it can be effected by the two, it is not the same as capitalism.
I see this cartoon as being equally spoon fed as modern cartoons and also false and misleading as modern cartoons. It's still giving you your thoughts for you instead of letting you do the thinking part for your self.
I took note of the bit on farm subsidies. We do not, nor have we ever, participated in any of the U.S. Dept. of Agriculture farm subsidies. Somehow it seems like that kind of government intervention destroys the whole essence of farming. It's a gamble every year. Some years we barely break even, some years we lose our shirts, and some years we hit a homerun.
I agree with you, Tommy. We have a serious shortage of both integrity and compassion back there in that other Washington. :)
