Bipolar Disorder Support Group
Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.

When your definition of "old people" keeps getting later and later, you are getting older.
I remember being a kid and thinking people were "old", "really old", or "how are they still alive?"
One time in college I mentioned that I had a great math teacher and someone asked his name. I didn't remember so I described him and said he was a "younger guy" This one KID in the class asked how old he was so I said he was in his early 30's. This kid starts laughing and I ask why. He said, "younger? REALLY? Hahaha, he's old"
I told him that he was crazy because that isn't old at all and he responds "Of course, you think that! You look like you are about to be old yourself!!"
I was flabbergasted. " I am twenty three years old! 'Old' isn't even on the horizon!"
He laughed again and said "Yeah, you would think that..."
He was 18... When I talk to people that are 18, I now refer to them as kids and say things like "when you grow up..." you can blah blah blah.

Once again I've had a fever today. I'm not going to the hospital because that's a huge waste of time but I did schedule a dr appointment for Wednesday afternoon.

In this Country, 'Geezer' means Wide Boy.
When I was in my twenties, I remember reading the obituaries and as long as someone had made it to 50, I thought that they had at least lived a long enough time.
Now I'm 60 and I'm finding that 'old' is anyone 10 years or more older than me.
I felt that way when I was 50 and I bet I'll feel like that if and when I am 70!!
The plan for my gram was always that she was going to go live with my mom eventually.
When my mom fixed her house up and brought the move up to my 90 year old gram, gram was horrified.
"I meant when I'm OLD!" she said.
I asked her how old she felt and she thought about it for a minute and said, '26'.
Never mind feeling '26'!!!
I can still find the kid in me!!!!
Thank heavens 'old' is largely a frame of mind, looking from the inside out!!!
Snicker!!!! I bet the 18 year olds love it when you tell them 'when you grow up'!!! LOL!!!
For example, my 56 year old sister is younger than I am. She is more physically fit and *lives* her life with joy and beauty. I don't.
The order would go as follows
Chronological Age and real age:
Youngest:
MS chron. 56, physical/psch age: 40 spritual: Guru
CCS: Chron. age 54, physical/psych age: 50
spiritual: Regulated householder
JSB: Chron age 52, phys.age: 40 psych. age: 48
spiritual: regulated householder, domestic goddess
RSL: Chron age 50, phys. age: 40, psych: 42 spiritual: devotee, still wonders, stuck in trauma a bit, highly intelligent but anxious
Me: Chron. 45, physical age: 58, psych: 25
Spiritual: prikriti: one in distress, mode of ignorance
Physically and in psychological temperament, I am aging at a more rapid rate than they are.
Maturity wise, I guess at best, I will always be in my late 20's.
I know 80 and 90 year olds who are happier and more active than I am.
Age is partially relative, although society will convince that age is bad and all this other bunk.
And I think if you got to know us face to face, you'd never believe we were OLD.
We don't believe it...we are still kids at heart.
We joke about how old we are today based on how we feel at the moment.
Old has much more to do with your actions than your age!!
